Polyester Reactor Building (B39) Bostik

Client: Private Client
Location: Middleton, MA
Project Description: The project was a design/built effort to construct a 5000 Square Foot, 40 foot high industrial building to house chemical reactors for the growing polyester division of Bostik. The major challenges were: constructing the building against existing buildings on two sides and within 10 feet of a third building and, not interfering with manufacturing operations in the adjoining buildings.
The structure consisted of a structural steel frame, composite two way slabs and a CMU exterior. Heavy reactor loads were included in the design. Tie-ins to adjoining structures required weather protection to prevent damage to process controls and hot work permits and fire watches. No impact to busy client operations occurred during the project.
