Seawalls — Point Allerton Seawall Repairs

HULL, MA — T Ford Company, Inc. (TFCI) was contracted by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation to perform stone revetment seawall repairs on approximately 1,500 linear feet of shoreline. The revetment design required the use of excavators with hydraulic thumbs and a crawler crane with clamshell bucket to place each 3 to 5 ton armor stone to the required slope and elevation. Approximately 5,000 tons of stone was used to repair the existing revetment. An April Nor'easter caused a significant amount of additional damage to the Point Allerton seawall and an adjacent seawall, but TFCI was still able to complete the additional work ahead of schedule.
