Civil — Riverwalk Park Restoration Project

METHUEN, MA — TFCI was the general contractor for the demolition, reconstruction, and reinstallation of a 52 foot long x 10 foot wide pedestrian bridge after record rainfalls caused the existing span to collapse into the Spicket River. The City of Methuen acquired FEMA disaster recovery funds for the work, and TFCI worked with the City to complete the job three months ahead of schedule. The work included the selective demolition of the existing bridge deck, piers, and exterior supports, and the subsequent installation of reinforced concrete bridge abutments, retaining walls, and weathered steel pedestrian and light vehicle bridge. Access was very limited due to the centralized urban location but TFCI completed the work with minimal disruption.
